Title: Knuckles Post by: Keoki on February 12, 2007, 02:30:16 PM What weapon type are Knuckles classified as? Title: Re: Knuckles Post by: Dojo on February 13, 2007, 09:03:27 AM They use Hand to Hand skill
Title: Re: Knuckles Post by: Sedek on February 15, 2007, 06:12:20 PM They use Hand to Hand skill So the next question becomes ... since Knuckles have no Weapon Specialization skill does that mean that you loose the 10% Melee damage bonus from having a maxed Spec skill? (the assumption would be 'yes' in which case the follow up is, is there any advantace to Knuckles over other weapons?) Title: Re: Knuckles Post by: Atelic Sceadugenga on February 19, 2007, 08:06:04 AM Do you mean "knuckles" as in a pair of knuckle dusters? Or "knuckles" as in your own clenched fist?
There is a specialisation for Fist Wraps, and a specialisation for Ulak and Claws, both of which are governed by Hand to Hand skills. I am lead to believe that using a bare fist instead of a weapon will mean you lose any weapon specialisation bonus, however an empty fist is considered a "rare" weapon that scales with your level. So if you have crap weapons, you might well be better off with no weapon equipped at all! I wouldn't mind seeing the stats for bare fist fighting show up in the empty weapon slot so it can be properly compared. At lvl 13 without weapons and having the Grasshopper buff on I get about 20-23 (cannot remember for sure) DPS. With both fist weapons added I get around 26. Now, I had to play with this as I had accumulated 4 seperate h2h weapons. After playing around I found that 2 of them would actually drop my DPS below unarmed DPS. I highly recommend you get the DroxUI to track this. Since it definately makes a big difference on how you do damage. Title: Re: Knuckles Post by: Perigee on February 21, 2007, 06:28:09 AM Skill in the weapon type makes a difference. If you have a better weapon, but only 1 skill, it will almost certainly show lower DPS. I know this because I'm working up my skills now =P
Title: Re: Knuckles Post by: Novashi on February 21, 2007, 07:32:00 AM Size makes a difference as well. When using knuckles on the same hand and MH weapon listed at 8.75 dps and OH listed as 8.53 DPS I get less dps overall than 1 Knuckle and 1 (Claw) with the OH claw listed as 5.53 DPS.
Makes no sense unless the Uklak(Claw thingie whatever the name is) is smaller than the knuckles which in the sword world will allow you to do better DW damage. :uglystupid2: Title: Re: Knuckles Post by: nymble on March 02, 2007, 09:25:48 PM Just a quick FYI. Droxui pulls the dps number from the equipment page.. it doesnt calculate it. If you mouse over the damage in the bottom right of equipment page its the same number. hehe, which i dont really trust anyway.
Anyone know of a UI that actually calculates dps while you fight?? would go along way towards figuring out what weapon combos are actually better.
