Title: Question about monk ability combos.

Do monks have a combo of certain abilities they perform other than critting with an opener that will cause some kind of added effect? For example,  disciples use three specific abillites and that performs a big heal on their defensive target.

ive not played a disciple so i cant comment.

we have 3 different finishers, each one has an advanced finisher tied to it (ie if you crit the finisher, your adv finisher lights up) two are just nice big damage numbers, other is an aoe kick

we have quivering palm which you can use after you have dodged or parried or such, cant remember which (the effect lowers mobs damage output by 50%)

we have a riposte style hit which trigers when we dodge or something (dfferent one to quivering palm) and it isnt on global cooldown :)

Those are only combo/contional type abilities i beleive

Just to add.

There is a combo at 50 which is a bit different to the others.
it opens with Three Finger Strike, which triggers..
Hammer Strike finisher, which triggers...
Palm Explodes the heart,... which i imagine finishes most mobs :p

I toyed with the disciple during beta and have not come across any 'secret' abilities like that. I think those are mainly for the interaction between character classes. Though it does not surprise me that they gave those to the disciple. Secret of Ice(lvl 22, I think) has "triggered" a lot of these for my group members. I have not seen anything "trigger" for me.

In beta 2.5 the Disciples had pretty awesome utility as thier abilities had different effects depending on when you used them. e.g. Blessed Wind when used as an opener granted a heal over time, but when used as a bridge it would be a large heal. I can't really comment on how they are now since I havent touched that class since the revamp.

If that is what you meant then not really. Alothough I can say the monk can put a multitude of states on a mob that can often be exploited by group member and in the case of the Drunken and Dragon monks they can even increase thier own damage output by using them.

In relation to my previous post about secret of ice, hey removed the ability of your group members to learn things this patch.
