Post by: Munki Business on February 04, 2007, 06:01:42 AM
So from what I hear is that a Disciple is like an EQ Beastlord without a pet. Can anyone confim this?

I only played the first 16 levels as a disciple and but I'll sum up how I felt about it in a sentence.

A monk that has to worry about giving HPS while doing his DPS.

Disciples are much more effective at healing than beastlords were.  I've leveled up to 22 with a group of 6 and the only healer we have had is a disciple and he does fine.

However, their dps cannot even come close to ours.  I measured it with a friend, we each started attacking two identical mobs of identical level and I was able to kill mine, move on and kill another, and then go help him finish off his.

Yea, what Dojo said.

In Vanguard, a disciple is a healer class first.  One disciple can keep a group alive.  I wouldn't count on a beastlord to be a main healer.  8)
