Title: key controls Post by: fairbrother1969 on January 31, 2007, 06:32:53 AM Hi guy's, i've just hit level 14 and have gained the linked attacks, i was wondering since there is only one key for both are they related? i.e is it a case of do one and if all's well it will automaticly use the next? I hope this makes sense to someone out there lol.
Title: Re: key controls Post by: Akodo on January 31, 2007, 09:41:33 AM No. I am not certain from you description, but I think I understand what you are asking.
You now have Flying Kick 1 and Thousand Punch 1 over your normal default hotkey bar. When you use an ability and critically hit, both will activate/highlight those abilities with a count down timer(green bar). Hitting any ability other that one of those two 'breaks' the chaining opportunity. Hitting one of those abilities, while you have sufficient endurance and a ssuming they are not 'on cool-down', causes you to attack with that 'move' including spiffy animations. More will get added as you go up in levels. Also, the default keybinding set allows you to hit the 'G' button to 'continue a chain'. This is very helpful once you start getting the reactive abilities and counter attacks. I have a counter attack if I block and if I dodge. Using 'G' makes these land very reliably as the reactive 'count down timers' are very short, usually the next attack based on the mobs swing timer. 'G' will activate your most recently achieved Finishing ability for you when you crit with an ability (you have to press the hotkey for anything other than the one you most recently learned... its annoying, there should be a selector, but I digress.'Y' will activate a defensive ability when you dodge (similar in function to 'G', its now the one you last learned) 'V' supposedly (nothing to test with) activates a rescue when it becomes available.
