Title: Goading Slap
Post by: Jarr on February 28, 2008, 03:34:15 PM
Goading Slap IV (Level 44)
Cost: 15 Endurance    Type: Attack
Discipline: Drunken    Target: Offensive Target
Range: 5    Cast: Instant
Duration: N/A    Cooldown: 30

Deals 124 to 134 damage and causes your opponent to have 1600 additional hatred for your defensive target

1600 additional hatred is this transfered from the monk to the Def target or is just more hate?

Also does FD wipe you from the hate list when its a success?

It is More Hatred to your Defensive Target , not hatred from you to it etc. If you are tanking can give yourself hatred, if you have a plate tank in group have him targeted defensive to give him some additional hate for better aggro.

Yes you are wiped from Hate list on a Successful FD

We are doing hate tests atm (me and monk in my guild) with goading slap and it doesnt seem to add hate, that or the 2400 it adds is to small to be noticeable. (its possible but hard to tell with a 30 sec recast

It does work, just may not allways be enough for tank to get snap aggro back etc if others are beating on the mob going all out dps, It being Resisted Sucks. If tank doesn't have aggro everyone else should stop dps to let tank get aggro returned to him anyways, Goading slap comes in handy there

I pop it whenever the refresh is up, I notice a difference if i dont use it, but who knows could be bugged as fool hardy swagger is

I know it doesn't work if your defensive target is not on the hate list, yet. What I also know is that it's more useful for giving the tank that extra bit of initial aggro in case they need it, but not as useful mid-fight.

On a sad note i found out that monks have 2 superior skills and rogues/war get most of their attacks in superior (rogue even get some fnishers superior)

Are we sure about that? as in confirmed by a dev? Or have they just not been found yet, took forever to initially find the 2 that were found, there could be more out there.....

Maybe the next Vanguard raid dungeon is where all the good monk stuff is :P
Let's be honest - they always leave monk 5-6 months later than most classes to sort out, as us old timers know all too well.
